The Flying Dutchman was probably my favorite of all the Breakout rooms we played during our visit. The room stands out for its clever and mostly mechanical puzzles, which fit well with the nautical theme. The design leans into the atmosphere of an old pirate ship, with wooden floors and ship-like decor that support the setting in a subtle but consistent way.
If you only have time for one room at this location, this would be the one I’d recommend. While it’s not flawless, it’s certainly the most cohesive and satisfying overall.
That said, there are signs of wear and tear—some props and surfaces show their age. It was also unusual to be warned not to drop anything on the floor, as it’s made of wooden planks like you’d find on a real ship, and items can slip between the boards. Apparently, retrieving lost objects from there isn’t straightforward. We live, we learn. 😉
Overall, The Flying Dutchman delivers a solid escape room experience with theme-appropriate challenges and a clear structure. It may not be the most polished room out there, but it’s a good pick for players who enjoy tactile, logic-based gameplay in a thematically grounded setting.
