I know this might be a controversial opinion, but out of all the games in the Krakow region, Transmigracja was the one I enjoyed the most. A big part of that was thanks to the owner. It’s always so refreshing to meet passionate people- he greeted us warmly and spoke about the room with genuine integrity. This was clearly his baby, and his pride and desire for us to enjoy it made a real difference.
The authenticity of the experience was palpable from the start, greatly enhanced by the owner’s fascinating insights into the building’s history, which perfectly set the mood even before we began. The game takes place in a huge historic space that once housed a German printing press where the Ostdeutsche Morgenpost was printed before the war.
The story is based on intriguing historical rumors: during renovations, documents were uncovered suggesting that the printing house was actually a front for secret Nazi activities. Transmigracja is the codename for a covert operation where Nazi scientists allegedly experimented with parallel worlds-a concept that adds an eerie, mysterious layer to the game’s atmosphere.
The puzzles strike a good balance of complexity and variety, requiring logical thinking, sharp observation, and occasionally some manual dexterity. This game is clearly aimed at more experienced players. It truly felt like we were moving through different worlds; the initial premise never hinted at what awaited us. The huge space has ups and downs, hidden alleys, and at some point, I honestly lost track of where we were -but I was having an absolute blast. You could probably see it on my face mid-game.
While the beginning maintains strong thematic consistency and draws you in, we felt the middle part lost a bit of cohesion, which slightly affected immersion. Still, Transmigracja is an epic experience that expertly combines history, mystery, and clever gameplay in a unique and vast setting.
10/10 would recommend!
