Obi (Ivan): Mission 53 started off with promise—we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly and engaging game master who really set a great tone before the game.
The intro space looked authentic and helped build some early excitement, and the theme itself was intriguing: tracking down a serial killer with a gritty, True Detective-style atmosphere. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. While the setup had potential, the quality of the space and puzzles felt neglected. Many elements seemed worn out or dirty, which made it hard to stay immersed. It felt like an attempt at realism ended up becoming more off-putting than atmospheric. There were a couple of interactive moments that sparked some interest, but the room’s condition kept pulling us out of the experience. By the final section, the decline was so steep that we honestly felt like cutting it short and leaving early.
Overall, a nice theme and a great host, but sadly not a room we’d recommend.
