Our trip to Belgrade could have failed for many different reasons, but somehow, we were able to do it. The plan we were able to accomplish in the end was to visit 6 rooms in two days for each of the two teams, Fury and Witches Abroad.

This room had to be something else.
First, we planned this trip to Belgrade to prepare and train our communication skills for the Red Bull Escape Room World Championship 2018, and our training began with this room. Second, because this is room number 100 for the team (in retrospect, as it turns out, I’m bad at math (what a shocker), and this was room 103). And finally, because it’s Harry Potter, and being absolute nerds, we are fans of the story.

We managed to contact them and warn them that we were running 15 minutes late due to the completely abnormal Saturday traffic in Belgrade. Finding the room was not an easy task, not only it is located in the Belgrade Student City, not only is it on the 9th floor, but there are also no signs. All that is guiding us is this:

The “room” is located in a standard dormitory. They welcome us into the kitchen. The furniture is there, the sink and the old kitchen cabinets. Both this and the following premises are of dubious hygiene, and there is the really unpleasant presence of roaches.

School of Wizardry is literally nothing but the amateur interior, up to 5 padlocks with 4 digits that you can access from the beginning. As soon as we had 4 digits, the boys ran to enter the numbers everywhere and then exchanged places in case anyone made a mistake. The goal of your game is to restore the 7 Horcruxes, the owners have tried to bring some authenticity, some movie-related souvenirs, 3 “golden” snitches, a sorting hat. There is one interesting puzzle in the whole room, and that’s it. Everything else looks like it was assembled by seventh graders.

In conclusion, when Hristo, who is absolutely politically correct and so positive generally in life and whom I have never heard say something bad about someone or something, uses the words “Well, it wasn’t THAT bad”, then it is a room you better avoid.

It turned out that none of us had enough dinars or euros to pay because there was no card payment. We left our teammates hostage, and with Venski, we ran to withdraw money. Now I have seen everything; to pledge our friends as a security deposit was a first 💸.

From Witches Abroad, I heard nothing different from our opinion on this room, so both teams’ verdict remains #thebottom.
