The Padlock – The Cemetery

Obi (Ivan): The room’s atmosphere was immersive, with the creepy feel of a cemetery and catacombs well-presented. The set design was well-built, capturing the essence of a forgotten graveyard.

However, the puzzles were pretty easy and somewhat predictable, which might be a plus for beginners but left us wanting more challenge. Some elements in the room, intended to be scary, were quite old and ill-functioning, so they ended up being more comical than frightening. This unexpected twist had us laughing out loud, which, while fun, completely shattered the ominous atmosphere that had been built up.

Additionally, the room’s dirtiness, although fitting for the cemetery theme, was not pleasant at all. It added to the authenticity but detracted from our overall comfort. Also, some elements inside looked a bit dangerous and potentially harmful to the players, which created concerns in some of us. (mostly me 🙂 )

Overall “The Cemetery” gave us a mixed experience – we had a mostly positive one but with a few drawbacks. The atmospheric setting and immersive design are commendable and if you’re looking for a light escape room with a spooky theme, this might worth your time.

Nadia: This was a smaller room, and it had a spooky vibe. At first, I was a bit skeptical about whether I’d enjoy it, but in the end, there were no actors, and everything went better than I expected.

Spoiler: Death coming out of the closet was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a room. The mechanism wasn’t running smoothly, so as the figure slid out of hiding, it was shaking. It looked like Death was dancing bachata. I didn’t mind at all—it actually put my mind at ease, and we continued with the game.

To my surprise, there’s no “good ending”—you always end up failing. Although that felt a bit discouraging, the papers we received after the game were a nice touch. I still keep them.
