That was a LOT of fun!
Let’s start with the gameplay of this “room” — although it’s not your typical escape room.
Two teams play in identical spaces, facing the exact same puzzles and aiming for the exact same reward. The goal? Gather as much information (in the form of cards) as possible to create the perfect murder. The cards come in four categories: weapons, body disposal methods, transportation, and… I honestly can’t remember the last one!
Each team’s objective is to collect as many cards as possible to build what they believe is the ideal murder scenario — selecting the right weapon, the method, and how to get rid of the body.
There were around 12 puzzles (if I remember correctly), each one granting a unique card once solved.
But that’s only half of it.
Throughout the game, both teams have access to a shared space — the casino, where game masters are present. Here, you can gamble to win more money (you start with some), gain advantages for your team, or impose disadvantages on the other team. The catch? Both teams can’t be there at the same time, so strategy is key — deciding when to enter matters just as much as why.
When time runs out, both teams present their perfect murder, and the game masters reveal if you had any disadvantages applied, whether your murder was “perfect,” and how much money you ended up with. All of this determines the winner.
In the world of escape games, this was a breath of fresh air. The competitive element keeps you on edge the entire time. You’re constantly speculating on what the other team is doing, whether they sabotaged you, or if they’re about to pull ahead — all while trying to solve puzzles and plan the best fictional murder.
