The mystery lab has a super lobby with a lot of character, and there are little things you can touch and see: puzzles, decorative panels with keys and padlocks, and sound and lighting appropriate to the genre. We will play the Enigma Room, connected, of course, with World War II and Alan Turing’s machine. The interior is completely in tune with the theme, slightly worn and, in some places, unconvincing, but it should be plausible enough.
I would say that the level of complexity of the puzzles is medium to difficult. The game begins after our host shows up in a military uniform, and with the right tone and without breaking the role, he explains what our task is. The dude was brilliant.
Room time is 90 minutes. We went out for 88. It’s sad that we left after Venski and Dimitar brute-forced the exit puzzle, cross my heart, they didn’t want to do that, it was unintentional. While I was studying very hard a map with warships, my boys were in a room where I couldn’t sneak in (because of my size), and I just heard them shouting: “wait”, “13, you dumb ass,” “turn this one”, “17 multiply by 14 and after that go linear”, “44”, “no you stupid, it’s 48” and so on, and then the exit opens. The game master came in, explain what we have skipped and missed, of course, with 4 easy steps you can escape, and we, of course, found the most difficult way to do things. As always we proved that if there is a way to overcomplicate things, you can count on us.
There are some cool machines, one interesting puzzle in the crate, and a few unclear clues like you have to spot that the light from an electric torch is less bright now, but I’ll shut up now.
