Obi (Ivan): Orient Express was one of the smallest and narrowest escape rooms I’ve ever played. The setting follows the classic murder-on-a-train storyline, clearly inspired by the likes of Hercule Poirot, but unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite live up to the mystery. The scenario itself felt pretty flat, and we weren’t really drawn in by either the puzzles or the story.
The puzzles lacked originality and didn’t offer much in terms of creative engagement—mostly lock-based and straightforward, with little variation. The decor and props also felt dated and tired, like something from the early days of escape rooms around 2012–2013. Nothing was outright broken, but the whole experience felt like it was running on old steam.
It didn’t take us long to get through the game, and it didn’t leave much of a mark. There was nothing especially bad about it, but also nothing that thrilled us. Just a very basic, traditional room with lots of locks and a clear lack of fresh ideas. If you’re new to escape rooms or looking for a simple, short mystery, it might work—but for seasoned players, this one doesn’t bring much to the table.
