Oh, how excited I was for this room. I got the most secure seal of approval, and I mean the Endorphin team was adamant that is one room in Bucharest you MUST play, and it is Chernobyl Reactor 4.

Welcome to the room is great, a very nice game master takes us on a mission and sets us a goal – to stop the reactor from overheating and of course save the world (in 75 minutes). We find ourselves in a room with many different systems, and our game begins. Like any self-respecting room, the interior here helps you immerse yourself in history; not that I have ever been into a nuclear power plant, but I feel like the environment is close. Kudos to the authentic inscriptions in Russian above each module. Of course, I dive into reading everything that was written in looking for a clue. Then, somehow, I remembered that I was in Romania, and probably speaking Russian was not a requirement for playing in the room. But I learned a great deal about the boiler room!

Puzzles with balls and magnets, assembling and feeding equipment with giant cables, stopping an industrial fan, here you have everything. The room is linear but dynamic (which is also helped by adequate sound) and does not leave you wondering or resting. If you are close to a nuclear reactor, remember the correct answer is always “cut”. After the final puzzle, which drained the last energy we had in recent attempts to communicate and navigate a person without looking at things, we were out in 51 minutes. The world is once again saved, and it’s time for us to take selfies with a Geiger counter.

To leave a physical imprint somewhere, to leave our name for us, is a privilege, and whenever we remember, we feel warm and fuzzy inside. In order for our faces to be on the Wall of Fame, we had to fill in the GDPR documentation, which was very annoying. It was worth every minute. The Fury team, second among teams, escaped without a single hint (for a year and a half since the room was opened). If you go, tell them that we send them best regards and that we regret that our ugly faces have to hang in the lobby ๐Ÿ˜‰

And thank you for the experience and for keeping your promise and sending us a photo of the modified wall. ๐Ÿ‘

5 years after our visit, we reached Bucharest again with the idea of playing escape rooms. It’s super cool that our photo is still in the lobby; they sent us a confirmation while we wandered around other games. It warms my heart. A little later, we entered the lobby to play the other game at the location, Jigsaw Puzzle, and took a selfie. We haven’t changed a bit, Mitko and me…

Mon, Venski, and Lily were with us for the first time in this city, and there was no way they would miss playing one of our favorite rooms in Bucharest. Their game ends with a record ๐Ÿฅณ and a successful attempt to reproduce our victorious, now not-so-relevant photo.

I’m proud of you โค๏ธ
