We return the day after the end of the World Escape Room Championship Finale, where we ranked sixth in the world (which will make me smile until the day I die and about what I will write one day in a separate post). Still, we are already much more relaxed and ready to have fun without the worry of an upcoming competition. The Fury lineup is much more serious. We have the honor of playing with Nora for the first time and introducing her to our mouse adventure.
After the destruction of the sheep command center in Operation Black Sheep, the professor is determined to take his revenge. We learn that Sheep has deployed six SheepMutator devices worldwide. The goal is, through mutation of the human genome, those devices to turn anyone in their range into a quiet, average white sheep. Although, in my opinion, some of the devices have already been activated while watching the world news, we will once again save humanity, and everything is in our hands, finding ourselves on the “streets” of London, where conveniently the location of one of those wanted machines.
This room is a paradox; it is the smallest Cluequest room we’ve played in so far, but with the largest number of puzzles so far, there are a lot of them here. I know almost nothing about half of them because the team was like a typhoon, everything came out in minutes, every surface was checked, every hole was inspected, every lock was tested several times. From an interior standpoint, the room is not that big of a deal, but I have to say that the hologram puzzle was ultra-impressive, not only it was with several steps or levels, but when it came to light, and you started to solve it, it feels like the Matrix.
One puzzle annoyed me. Personally, it was expected to know how to use a super large measuring tape (like a professional one that construction workers use) to measure distances. I hate having to measure something, and in the end, I’m still working with variables, and you make it all deductible. When you measure, it’s wrong the results to be a matter of interpretation, whether you got 8 or 9 or 7 because it’s not clear how to use the tool. Had they put on a simple sewing tailor measuring tape…
We are heading to Shrink’o’Mat to learn the end of this compelling story that will take us back to the beginning and the roots of the war between mice and sheep and answer questions that we have gathered for some time now. I can’t wait because cQ ORIGENES was the room recommended to us by the UK World Championship Team Squared, and they are the people who played over 1180 rooms and probably knew what they were talking about. Yes, you read that right … over 1180 rooms.
