We played many Harry Potter-themed rooms. We played rooms in Belgrade, rooms in Hungary, rooms in Romania … Harry Potter is a popular theme. I don’t know if the owners realize how ambitious this theme is and that people visiting these rooms have high, hiiiiigh expectations. Making realistic magic is not enough by just putting 3 LED strips and handing out 5 wands, making people repeat incantations. I’ve seen a Dementor made from a black bedsheet, for God’s sake.
The saddest part is that when we come out of these rooms, we always comment that this is Harry Potter for the poor, far from what a room created with the respect that this franchise deserves.
This room was the second one for The Infinity Escape room at the Sofia market. It is the second in our Harry Potter ranking, with the only one surpassing it being the next one, namely The Secret Chamber (so far the third and last room for Infinity). The decorations are well done and authentic. The puzzles are easy, but considering that the room is mainly designed for an audience that does not necessarily pursue a competitive game and is, on average, 15 years old, this is a completely adequate choice. This explains our record 😆 and shows that Infinity learns from their “mistakes” (as their first room surprised us with puzzles and solutions) and actively improving the production as they go, a skill that I highly respect and appreciate endlessly.
Fury’s rating: This is Harry Potter for fans; grab the kids and make a reservation. And then move straight to The Secret Room; you won’t regret it. And watch out for the Mandrakes!
